OTB News: Climate Box Update

The beginning of the month was very busy for Out of the Box International within the Climate Box project. The main role of OTB in the project is to lead the project dissemination by overseeing the process of disseminating the project outputs and developing the dissemination plan. Furthermore, OTB is responsible for the project graphic design and logo, assisting in website templates’ development as well as supervising all partners in a joint effort for maximum result visibility. OTB has recently presented the new logo for the project.

Climate Box assumes that socio-economically disadvantaged groups and low-educated adults are less likely to a) obtain tailored information about climate issues and b) actively seek information about climate-related topics, as they are facing challenges related to their socio-economic status and may not perceive climate issues as their priority.

Climate Box aims to strengthen climate awareness of disadvantaged groups by developing climate-related training units, which adult educators can easily integrate into any kind of educational programme. Climate Box will create outputs tailored to specific needs of the disadvantaged with a particular focus on easy-to-understand information applicable to everyday life, such as energy and food consumption, water usage, waste reduction, clothing and mobility choices. For this purpose, the project will create a toolbox containing small, ready-to-use learning units, which educators and trainers can integrate into their courses to increase climate awareness and motivate participants to live a eco-friendlier lifestyle.

The official launch of the project website has been scheduled for the next few days, overseen by the project coordinator BUPNET in cooperation with Out of the Box International.

The Climate Box project will be implemented by 6 partners from Germany (BUPNET), Belgium (OTB), Austria (die Berater), Italy (CESIE), Bulgaria (CATRO) and Spain (Caminos).

The project is co-financed by the Erasmus+ KA2 Programme of the European Commission.
