OTB’s TAPROOM Learning Model

In collaboration with four other partner organizations – The Malta Business Bureau, which represents The Malta Chamber of Commerce, GAL Molise verso il 2000 (Italy), AVA Creations Foundation (Bulgaria) and Italienische Handelskammer München-Stuttgart Camera di Commercio Italo-Tedesca (Germany), Out of the Box International has recently launched the TAPROOM Learning Model, the 1st output of the TAPROOM project, co-funded by the EU’s Erasmus+ programme.

TAPROOM’s ultimate aim is to develop a multidisciplinary, interactive & comprehensive set of training tools in the production and marketing of organic and craft beer. It goes a step further to ensure that more is done in terms of promoting beer as part of the intangible cultural heritage of the European Union.

In adopting a blended learning approach, the TAPROOM partnership expects to develop a tailored set of training tools suitable for anyone who does not have the time or the possibility to attend formal academic courses, which are generally of a longer duration.

As part of the TAPROOM Learning Model and through a blended approach of research, surveys and focus groups, the partners delved into an in-depth needs analysis of the learning needs of the stakeholders within the topics of type, approach and intensity of the training, profile of the potential trainings and the key topics of the training itself.

MBB CEO Joe Tanti Has noted the crucial nature of the TAPROOM Learning Model in the creation of a set of innovative tools catering to the learning needs of Organic and Craft Beer Producers in the partner countries and beyond, serving as a stepping stone for the development of capacities of the stakeholders and the resource repository for the project activities.

TAPROOM Project Manager Marija Elena Borg added on the importance of having established a level of communication between the stakeholders that will provide a flow into the other project outputs, giving a basis for the community of practice that will ensure the sustainability of project outputs and outcomes long after the duration of the project activities..

TAPROOM is executed transnationally in order to develop a comprehensive product that is applicable to both current and aspiring brewers, on an EU level.
