In May we started a series of online activities to promote GamifyEU and the EU. We first kicked this month off with an interactive and didactic webinar. To continue with, we decided to base our next activity on the methodology of the human library. For that purpose, we contacted Young People from NGO’s and EU Institutions who are working directly or indirectly to ”Shape the Future of EU” and ”Influencing” others to join them. After a search for the best “books” to offer to our “readers”, we found the right ones. The event was on the 21st of May.
Our library was composed of:
Andrew Todd. He works as Policy and Advocacy Coordinator for the Lifelong Learning Platform: European Civil Society for Education, a network of NGOs in the field of education, training and youth.
Tina Hocevar She is Vice-President of the European Youth Forum and Communications Officer of the European Commission. She is entering a ruthless but rewarding world of defending European and global youth, fighting for young people’s rights and working with institutions such as the EU, the United Nations, the Council of Europe and the African Union.
Marko Boko He spent some of his best years working with the National Youth Council of Croatia, European Youth Forum and the Advisory Council on Youth of the Council of Europe. Even though he is not that much active within the youth organisations in Europe anymore, his work for youth rights continues through the work of the European Parliament – “Bring your community to Europe and back”.
Milosh Ristovski He comes from Kumanovo (North Macedonia). He started working with JEF Europe as a trainer/educator for different JEF international activities for about 7 years. new Secretary-General of JEF Europe since April 2018. His main objective will be to strengthen JEF Europe and its sections throughout Europe, to help them develop to ensure JEF’s political impact grows even stronger at all levels.
Antonis Stylianou. He considers himself a full-time European, lawyer, online communications officer at the European Commission, working in the spokesperson’s service in the EC in the team responsible for presidential communication (started as a blue book trainee), part-time Erasmus+ trainer.
Among this exquisite catalogue of books, participants were able to find different topics for different needs or doubts. Each participant had to choose which “book” they wanted to “read” and they had the opportunity to ask personally all those doubts and interests. All the book had the chance of answering their public in a 20 minutes’ conversation where they showed their own advices and stories to get where they wanted to be or where life took them all, because, for some of them, work for the EU was an unexpected thing to happen.
