On the 4th of August, 2020 an event was organised to close the Welcomeship project in Brussels, Belgium.
During the event, the Director of Out of the Box International introduced the project and its methodology and reflected on activities implemented during the project.
As part of the event, project intellectual outputs were reviewed: The Welcomeshit Learning Kit, Course and Workshops, Guidebook for Inclusive Communities, Tutorial Programme and the Welcomeship Channel.
The event gathered 25 representatives of NGOs and institutions in Brussels in the Maison D’Istrie restaurant.
Welcomeship – Building inclusive communities through community-based entrepreneurship
The overall goal of the project was to develop, implement and test the “Welcomeship model” – a model of entrepreneurship learning for young people with fewer opportunities, including young migrants and local youth. The “Welcomeship” model is based on non-formal learning methods and collaborative practice. It strengthens the interaction between locals and newcomers, addresses fears and prejudices and fosters community spirit as an overarching goal.
